Punta Helbronner: how to get there and what to see at 3,466 m

Punta Helbronner, at 3,466 m, is the highest point reachable by cable car from the Italian side of Mont Blanc. From here the view embraces the Western Alps as far as the Matterhorn and Monte Rosa.
How to get there
It is reached only via Skyway Monte Bianco from Courmayeur, changing cabin at Pavillon. The total journey takes about 20 minutes, with panoramic stops along the climb.
What to see at the top
Three outer terraces with 360° views, a crystal room displaying Mont Blanc minerals and a mountaineering departure station for the Vallée Blanche and Rifugio Torino.
What to bring
Even in summer the temperature at the top can drop below zero: warm jacket, sunglasses and high-protection sunscreen are essential. Altitude can cause mild breathlessness: move calmly.
