Only half a day for Portofino? It can be done: with a well-planned itinerary you'll see the best of the village in 4 hours, lunch included.
Hour 1: piazzetta and harbour
Arrive by boat or bus: parking is nearly impossible. Start from the piazzetta, photograph the little harbour and visit San Giorgio church.
Hours 2-3: climb to Castello Brown and the lighthouse
Take the climb to Castello Brown: view, museum and continue on the panoramic trail to the lighthouse. Total: 30 min easy walk plus visit.
Hour 4: lunch and return
Head back to the piazzetta for a quick trattoria lunch, then catch the early-afternoon ferry back. A perfect itinerary for cruise passengers or anyone with only one day in the Tigullio.
