Seafront walk in Rapallo: castle, Liberty villas, historic cafés and the best photo spots.
Rapallo's Lungomare Vittorio Veneto is a walk of over 2 km among palms, Liberty villas and the famous castle on the sea, the city's symbol.
The Castle on the Sea
Built in 1551, it rises on a small islet reached by a short footbridge. Today it hosts temporary exhibitions and in summer is the backdrop for open-air concerts.
Villas and architecture
Along the walk follow Liberty and early 20th-century villas, witnesses to the Riviera's heyday. Don't miss the bandstand and the historic Imbarcadero, symbol of seaside tourism.
Historic cafés and sunsets
Stop at one of the historic cafés in Piazza IV Novembre for an aperitif. The best light to photograph the castle is at sunset, when the sky turns pink.
