1 June 2026 · 3 min read
Guided tour of Villa Durazzo in Santa Margherita Ligure: history, frescoed halls, Italian park and opening hours.
Villa Durazzo Centurione is Santa Margherita Ligure's most important monument: a 17th-century mansion with Italian-style park overlooking the gulf, today a venue for civil weddings, exhibitions and summer concerts.
The villa's history
Built in 1678 by Marquis Gio Luca Durazzo, the villa is one of the finest examples of Ligurian noble residence. The piano nobile rooms preserve original furniture, portraits, Murano chandeliers and a collection of Asian porcelain.
The park and gardens
The 16,000 sqm park combines Italian garden, Mediterranean wood and palm grove. Don't miss the panoramic terrace with views over Portofino and the historic lemon house.
Hours, tickets and visit
Open daily with extended summer hours until sunset. Entry around €6, reduced for groups. In summer classical music concerts are often held by moonlight in the park.
